Conjugating verbs in Spanish can seem complicated at first, but don’t worry! If you learn the basic rules, you’ll be able to conjugate any verb in the indicative without a problem.

Presente
Present tense
📌The present tense is used to talk about things that are happening right now.
For example, “Yo hablo con mi amigo” means “I talk with my friend.” You can use this tense to talk about things you’re doing at the moment or routines.

Pretérito
Simple past tense
📌The preterite tense is used to talk about things you did in the past at a specific time.
For example, “Yo hablé con mi amigo ayer” means “I talked with my friend yesterday.”

📌The present perfect tense is used to talk about things you have done up until now.

Imperfecto

📌This is used to talk about things you used to do in the past.

Future Tense
📌The future tense is used to talk about things you will do in the future.
For example, “Yo hablaré con mi amigo mañana” means “I will talk with my friend tomorrow.”
Futuro "voy a"
Near Future Tense
📌The near future tense is used to talk about things you’re going to do very soon.
For example, “Yo voy a hablar con mi amigo en unos minutos” means “I am going to talk with my friend in a few minutes.“
Pluscuamperfecto:
Past Perfect
📌 The past perfect tense is used to talk about things you did before something else happened in the past.
For example, “Yo había hablado con mi amigo antes de irme a dormir” means “I had talked with my friend before going to sleep.”
Condicional
Conditional tense
The conditional tense is used to talk about things that could happen, but haven’t yet.
For example, “Yo hablaría con mi amigo si tuviera tiempo” means “I would talk with my friend if I had time.”
