Más tarde, Pedro gritó una vez más: “¡Lobo! ¡Lobo! ¡El lobo está persiguiendo a las ovejas!” Para su diversión, miró cómo los aldeanos subían corriendo la colina para asustar al lobo.

Como vieron que no había lobo, dijeron fuertemente: “¡Guarda tu grito asustado para cuando realmente haya un lobo! ¡No grites ‘lobo’ cuando no hay lobo!” … ellos dijeron. Pero el niño sonrió ante sus palabras mientras caminaban colina abajo una vez más.

Más tarde, ¡el niño vio a un lobo real! Caminando lentamente hacia las ovejas. Asustado, saltó sobre sus pies y gritó tan fuerte como pudo: “¡Lobo! ¡Lobo!” Pero los aldeanos pensaron que era una broma nuevamente, por lo que no vinieron a ayudar.

Al atardecer, los aldeanos fueron a buscar al niño que no había regresado con sus ovejas. Cuando subieron la colina, lo encontraron llorando.

Later, the boy saw a real wolf! Walking slowly towards the sheep. Frightened, he jumped to his feet and yelled as loud as he could: “Wolf! Wolf!” But the villagers thought it was a joke again, so they didn’t come to help.

At sunset, the villagers went to look for the boy who had not returned with his sheep. When they went up the hill, they found him crying.

“There really was a wolf here! The sheep died! I yelled, ‘Wolf!’ but they didn’t come,” Pedro said.

An old man went to comfort the boy. As he put his arm around him, he said, “No one believes a liar, even when he tells the truth!”
