Hotel Clerk: Good afternoon. Welcome to the Park Inn.
Martin: Hello. We have a reservation. The name is Baxter.
Hotel Clerk: Just a moment, please. Yes, I have it here. Can you fill out this registration form, please, Mr. Baxter? Are you still planning to stay until the 21st?
Martin: Yes, we are. Can you tell me if there’s a safe in the room where we can leave our valuables?
Hotel Clerk: Yes, there is.
Martin: Do you have 24-hour room service?
Hotel Clerk: Yes, we do, sir. There’s also a minibar in the room that is fully stocked with beverages and snacks. Breakfast is served on the mezzanine floor from 7:00 till 10:00 and the dining room is open from 5:00 till midnight. We also have a lounge with nightly entertainment, and it
serves snacks as well.
Ellen: Is there a beauty salon in the hotel? I was hoping to have a manicure later in the week.
Hotel Clerk: No, I’m sorry, there isn’t, but there is one just down the street. The concierge can call and arrange an appointment for you.
Ellen: I’ll think about that. Thank you.
Martin: We’re expecting the airline to deliver our suitcase later this afternoon.
Hotel Clerk: That’s fine, Mr. Baxter. We’ll have the bellboy bring it up as soon as it arrives. Here are your keys. You’re in room 710. The elevators are just to the left of the lobby.
Ellen: Where can I get some tourist brochures?
Hotel Clerk: There is a rack with maps and sightseeing information right next to the concierge’s desk. He’ll be able to book tours for you and help you purchase tickets to Broadway plays as well.
Ellen: Is there a gift shop in the hotel? I’ve forgotten my toothpaste.
Hotel Clerk: Yes. Just down the hall, on the right.
Ellen: Thank you.
Hotel Clerk: Enjoy your stay in New York.
