Hostess: Good afternoon. This is Fresco’s. How may I help you?
Ellen: I’d like to make a reservation for this evening.
Hostess: I’m sorry. We’re completely booked for this evening.
Ellen: Do you have any openings for tomorrow?
Hostess: We’re booked solid for the next few days.
Ellen: Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. We’re only in New York for a week. Your restaurant has such a wonderful reputation. We were really looking forward to trying it.
Hostess: We have a few tables available on Wednesday and Thursday. Would either of those days be convenient for you?
Ellen: We’re going to the theater on Wednesday, but Thursday would be fine.
Hostess: How many will there be in your party?
Ellen: Just two, my husband and I.
Hostess: Are you celebrating a special occasion?
Ellen: No. We’re just here on vacation.
Hostess: We have openings at 6:15 or 8:00. Which would you prefer?
Ellen: I think later would be better.
Hostess: And would you like a table on the terrace or inside?
Ellen: Oh, I think a patio table would be lovely.
Hostess: Okay. What name should I put the reservation in?
Ellen: Baxter.
Hostess: And can we have a number where we can get in touch with you?
Ellen: You can reach us at the Park Inn.
Hostess: Okay, Mrs. Baxter. We’re holding a patio table for you on Thursday at 8:00.
Ellen: Great. We’ll see you then.
Hostess: Thank you. Have a good day
